Alan sang this song to me when we met at the recording of “blue”, saying “this is what I am composing now”, and I came to like it very much. I asked him to send me a tape as soon as he finished composing it. I really loved Danny Thompson’s live performance when he came to Tokyo, and we have kept in touch by e-mail and such, and finally managed to record together this time. Alan actually came to the studio to play on “river”, but when he heard this track, he had to play something for it and insisted on playing the Hammond organ saying “you don’t have to use this, but let me play it anyway”.
